Happy Fish is a sustainable seafood program, we love this quirky and full of personality logo

Sandra Marshal came to me via a recommendation from a previous client. She was looking for a logo for her new venture, and was having trouble getting the results she wanted.

Sandra had been through a few designers previously and each time she did not get the logo she had in mind. Sandra is a creative herself so had very clear direction and very high standards. She also wanted someone who backed and understood her business, which aimed to bring better seafood choices to the Bondi Beach Area.

After a couple of meetings and a discovery session which reviewed her creative brief, the ideas started to flow between Sandra and I. I re wrote her brief and made the goals and objectives clearer and achievable.

Sandra had a clear idea that she liked a logo which had a hipster feel, appealed to her Bondi Beach market and incorporated a Buddha. ( yes odd for a seafood sustainability business)

I found an amazing Graphic Designer – Clark Spendelow from The Sky Foundry who I know would understand her business and had the right skills to deliver an iconic logo.

The Logo process took approx 4 weeks and immediately Sandra loved what we were doing. The marriage between fish and buddha worked so well with this linear logo.

Happy Fish is going from strength to strength, bringing on ambassadors including Sarah Wilson from I Quit Sugar.

We hope to work with Sandra again on more elements of her business in 2016.

’m a designer and a perfectionist, so it was never going to be easy to create a logo I was happy with. Previous failures included: talented designers & free work, paid work & failure to meet critical deadlines, expectation of upfront commitment with incomplete or no portfolios etc… I’d become fearful a logo was not meant to be. Emma conscientiously learnt about my business, rewrote my brief to make it designer-friendly, searched extensively to find a suitable designer, negotiated cost, time, approach & design amendments. She managed all of this saving me precious time AND she has keen design eye that was so very helpful in reviewing the designs and making the logo what it is. Emma was trustworthy, reliable and lovely to work with. I’d happily recommend her to anyone
